From disease spreading to genetic regulation to scientific publication, networks and network analysis pervades much of the work done at NIH. But because of their nature and complexity, networks are difficult to visualize in ways that are both accurate and visually appealing. Gephi is an open-source tool for analyzing and visualizing complex networks that combines peer-reviewed network layout and clustering algorithms with advanced visualization features. This hands-on session will cover how to load data into Gephi, how to use the tool to customize a network visualization, and how to export a finished visualization into various file formats.
